How To Sell Coupons On eBay
Everyone who wants to start a business on eBay always ask me what to sell on eBay. Most of my answers centered around used items, liquidated merchandise, and collectibles. I am not a powerseller on eBay by any means, but I always try to do some research on what other people are selling. As you know, you can find anything and everything on eBay, but I have never thought of selling coupons and making money. Those people are very creative in making money. I don't know how much they make but it's really is a no-brainer way to make some extra cash. And how hard can it be to collect free coupons and list them on eBay. I also was wondering if there was any sales at all. So, I checked the "completed listing." And yes, there were many transactions completed for coupons. That's what I would call a "niche market."
My next step is to figure out how on earth these people get so many coupons so much so that they can even make a tidy living out of them. I researched online a little bit. First of all, I am pretty sure everyone is sick of junk mail. Well, now junk mail can become a treasure source for free coupons. How about Sunday paper if you happen to subscribe one. Another venue is major retail stores. You frequent those stores all the times. Wal-Mart, Target, Staples, K-mart, Sears, BestBuy, Macy's, etc. Any retail store you can think of. You can sign up to receive their emails. One word of caution. You should get some new email accounts to use solely for that purpose. Otherwise, your regular email account will be flooded with all those spam and junk emails. Once you have sign up for the emails, I am sure those companies start sending you sales flyers. Again you should use some common sense for receiving those junk mails. Opening a post office box can be a good option. Once you start receiving those coupons, you can start listing them on eBay. There are big eBay regulations for selling coupons. Therefore, you should comply with eBay policies. Most of them are pretty much common sense. You don't want to sell expired coupons. You cannot send your coupons via electronic means. You cannot sell more than 20 coupons for the same item.
What kind of coupons should you sell? My answer is any lawful and legitimate coupons with high discounts and promotions. Who wants to buy 99 cents off coupons for $10 merchandise. So there you have it. In this economy, making some extra cash selling coupons can help you get through some tough time.
